Job description

Real Estate Development & Acquisitions Analyst


Location: Chicago, IL

Position Overview

• The Analyst will support acquisitions and development activities across the full lifecycle of multifamily projects.

• This role offers direct exposure to senior leadership in a lean, execution-focused environment with the expectation to contribute quickly and take ownership.


Underwriting & Analysis

• Lead underwriting and financial analysis for acquisitions and development opportunities

• Build and maintain financial models (ground-up, value-add, recapitalizations)

• Analyze key metrics including IRR, yield, and sensitivities

• Evaluate new opportunities and support pipeline management


Deal Execution

• Support transactions from initial evaluation through closing

• Assist in structuring debt, JV equity, and capital stack

• Prepare investment committee and lender/investor materials

• Coordinate due diligence and third-party reports


Development & Market Exposure

• Maintain development budgets and track performance vs. underwriting

• Support lender reporting and key project milestones

• Analyze markets, rent comps, and supply pipeline

• Support sourcing and evaluate new opportunities


Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in real estate, investment banking, or private equity

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or related field

• Strong financial modeling skills and understanding of real estate finance


Technical Skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency (required)

• Ability to build and audit financials models independently with limited oversight
