  About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Principal, Software Engineer– Frontend (Mobile) to lead the design and development of next-generation mobile applications. This role requires deep expertise in React, React Native, and Expo, combined with a strong grasp of modern mobile and web technologies. As a Principal Engineer, you will set technical direction, mentor engineers, and drive innovation using AI-driven developer tools (Agentic AI, MCP, LLMs) to accelerate productivity and enhance user experiences. What You’ll Do
  • Provide technical leadership: Lead teams of engineers—including offshore associates—through technical direction, architectural guidance, and solution reviews.
  • Guide discovery and delivery: Partner with Product, UX, and business stakeholders to define technical strategies, validate solutions, and deliver high-impact projects.
  • Own mobile development: Architect, build, and scale React Native applications using Expo, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Drive technical direction: Establish best practices for state management, performance optimization, and platform-specific integrations across iOS and Android.
  • Mentor and grow teams: Coach engineers on React and mobile fundamentals, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
  • Ensure reliability and scale: Oversee the full lifecycle of mobile apps, including publishing, CI/CD pipelines, and release management.
  • Optimize performance: Apply advanced React Native techniques to deliver smooth, secure, and responsive apps.
  • Leverage AI tooling: Utilize Agentic AI, MCP, and LLM-based developer tools to streamline workflows, improve code quality, and accelerate delivery.
  • Promote collaboration: Work cross-functionally to deliver seamless, high-quality experiences to millions of users.
     
What You’ll Bring
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering with 5+ years in frontend/mobile development.
  • Deep expertise in React Native, Expo, JavaScript/TypeScript fundamentals.
  • Proven track record of delivering and scaling consumer-facing mobile apps, including App Store and Google Play deployments.
  • Strong knowledge of mobile OS internals (iOS/Android project structures, native modules, platform integrations).
  • Practical experience with React patterns, hooks, and performance optimization techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead teams, with excellent communication skills to convey complex technical concepts.
  • Familiarity with AI developer tools (Agentic AI, MCP, LLMs) and a track record of adopting new technologies to improve engineering productivity.
