Job description

Webbs Reserve at Babcock Ranch, located in Fort Myers, FL, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a full-time Prep Cook! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you'll contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.
General Purpose:
The Food Preparer is responsible the preparing various food products
Pay: $21/hr
Essential Duties:
  • Follows recipes and/or product directions for proper food preparation
  • Maintains quality control for all products, including monitoring freshness of product daily
  • Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or cart
  • Prepares appropriate equipment for cooking
  • Operates kitchen utensils and/or equipment used for weighing, measuring, mixing, washing, peeling, cutting, grinding, stirring, straining, slicing, assembling and kneading of food products
  • Ensures proper food handling procedures are followed wrapping, labeling, dating, stocking, storing, rotating and checking temperature of products
  • Receives and inventories food and beverage product and supplies
  • Cleans and sanitizes work station and equipment
  • Ability to perform any other duties as assigned by Department Manager

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands:
Frequently stands, uses hands, talks, hears, tastes and smells. Regularly walks and reaches with hands and arms. Occasionally sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. Regularly lifts up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 100 pounds.
Environment/Noise:
Regularly works in extreme heat (non-weather) and near moving mechanical parts. Occasionally works in extreme cold (non-weather), wet or humid conditions (non-weather), near toxic or caustic chemicals, and in outdoor weather. Noise level is moderate.

Food Safety and Sanitation Training

  • Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
