Job description

Kelly® Science & Clinical is seeking a Chemist for our client  in Rochester, New York. If you’re passionate about bringing the latest scientific discoveries to life and are ready to take the next step in your career, trust The Experts at Hiring Experts.
Schedule: On-site Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm
Length of assignment: ~1 year contract
Pay: $21-27 an hour Depending on experience

The applicant will be responsible for the testing of medical devices, stability samples and validation samples using existing analytical chromatography methods and wet chemistry techniques. This position is part of the R D team with responsibility for product characterization for biocompatibility and product improvement.
Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for conducting and executing tests and experiments using both established methods and newly developed/novel techniques Independently operate analytical instruments such as an HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV-Vis, etc. to generate data.
  • Record and report all lab data as per approved procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze and critique results, noting significant deviations from the expected results.
  • Troubleshoot experiments and instrumentation.
  • Learn and understand new experimental techniques with a curiosity to apply them for unique project/assignment requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in the laboratory.
  • Ensure all work is performed and documented in accordance with existing company policies, procedures, current Good Manufacturing Practices, and health and safety requirements.
Requirements:
  • BA/BS in Chemistry or related field Knowledge of various chromatographic techniques including liquid chromatography and gas chromatography
  • Strong lab skills with strong undergrad experience and 0-3 years of industry experience
  • Strong writing skills Excellent team player with good organizational, interpersonal and communications skills
  • Experience in chromatography a plus
  • Experience with bio-medical research and development, and biocompatibility of medical devices a plus
