Candidate have to live in or around Columbia SC
They are required to go on site 4 days a week
The South Carolina Department of Health & Human Services (SCDHHS) is the State Medicaid Agency for South Carolina. The agency is focused on the modernization of the State's Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS). This modernization is a major undertaking that requires significant transformation in culture, processes, and technology.
The program supports the Department's transition from primarily a fee-for-service payor of claims to a program and policy driver for health outcomes, mainly through managed care initiatives. This strategy fosters innovation in MMIS thinking and aligns with modernization trends at the national level.
Position Summary: Quality Assurance Tester - Advanced
The Quality Assurance Tester - Advanced will be assigned to projects within SCDHHS. This position is well-suited for candidates who enjoy working on complex, change-oriented initiatives.
ICD-10 and Medicaid experience is desirable.
Daily Duties / Responsibilities
Perform tests on technical solutions to identify and resolve issues.
Initiate tests, analyze results, and find technical solutions.
Develop test plans, QA and/or User Acceptance Testing (UAT) processes, and test cases for product management and development teams.
Develop and maintain SDLC traceability from test cases to requirements and designs/software components.
Design and support user interface and regression testing.
Test software applications for reliability and stability.
Implement testing programs to ensure quality assurance, including negative and usability testing.
Design and/or run automated testing scripts with oversight.
Participate in defect triage, retest, and resolution processes.
Create QA documentation and reports as needed.
Adhere to established software testing governance policies, best practices, and guidelines; recommend improvements.
Perform reviews, walkthroughs, or inspections in line with governance standards.
Required Skills (Ranked by Importance)
5+ years translating business requirements or policy documentation into test cases and scenarios.
5+ years building test cases and scenarios in test environments.
3+ years of in-depth knowledge of healthcare operations (preferably Medicaid) and related business processes.
3+ years of experience communicating and publishing status reports on open issues and test gaps, and effectively articulating these to development teams.
3+ years of direct hands-on experience with formal test design tools.
Preferred Skills (Ranked by Importance)
5+ years of experience with large enterprise or e-business systems.
3+ years of experience using manual or automated testing tools such as Azure DevOps, Atlassian JIRA, or Confluence.
3+ years of prior experience working within a standard SDLC (Waterfall methodology) and Agile delivery environments.
Required Education
Bachelor's degree in a technical, business, healthcare, or related field.
Years of relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
