Your role will be crucial in ensuring the reliability and quality of wafers shipped from our Boise manufacturing site! The Product Quality and Reliability team ensures Micron delivers high-quality, reliable semiconductor solutions that meet customer expectations and business objectives. The team partners across product engineering, design, technology development, manufacturing, and reliability organizations to identify risks, solve complex technical challenges, and drive continuous improvements in product performance, yield, and customer satisfaction! As a Senior Product Quality and Reliability Engineer, you will be a technical leader. You will drive product excellence in quality, dependability, and yield across advanced semiconductor technologies. You will lead complex technical investigations, influence product and technology decisions, and develop innovative approaches that strengthen quality systems and business outcomes. This role provides an opportunity to have broad interpersonal impact through technical leadership, multi-functional teamwork, and strategic problem-solving. Responsibilities Lead complex investigations involving yield excursions, product deviations, and quality issues, driving root cause identification, containment actions, and sustainable corrective solutions Define product quality and reliability monitoring strategies and use data-driven insights to improve product performance and customer outcomes Direct advanced failure analysis and silicon debug activities by integrating design, test, process, manufacturing, reliability, and product data Assess technical risks associated with product deviations, qualifications, manufacturing changes, and customer returns, providing clear recommendations to team members and leadership Develop and lead qualification strategies for new products, technology nodes, and manufacturing process changes Identify emerging quality and reliability risks and influence product, process, and technology improvements across development and manufacturing organizations Establish and improve quality methodologies, analytics frameworks, and technical standards that strengthen organizational capability and accelerate learning cycles Lead global, multi-functional initiatives that balance quality, reliability, manufacturability, cost, schedule, and customer requirements Mentor engineers and strengthen technical capabilities through coaching, technical reviews, forums, and knowledge-sharing activities Represent the organization in internal and external technical communities and contribute to innovation through patents, publications, presentations, or other recognized technical achievements Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related technical field 10+ years of semiconductor engineering experience in product engineering, product quality, test, yield enhancement, reliability, technology development, design engineering, or a related field Experience with DRAM, NAND, or other advanced semiconductor memory technologies Deep understanding of semiconductor device behavior, manufacturing processes, product testing methodologies, and quality or reliability principles Experience leading complex technical investigations and delivering measurable improvements in yield, quality, reliability, cycle time, or customer experience Preferred Qualifications Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related technical field Experience leading product qualification, silicon bring-up, yield learning, reliability assessments, customer issue resolution, or production ramp activities Strong communication and presentation skills with experience engaging engineers, customers, executive leaders, and technical collaborators Demonstrated record of innovation through patents, invention disclosures, technical publications, conference presentations, or equivalent technical contributions Demonstrated ability to lead and influence multi-functional teams in a global environment without direct reporting authority Experience applying statistical analysis, experimental design, data visualization, and structured problem-solving methods to large-scale engineering data Experience using AI-enabled tools to support technical analysis, decision-making, knowledge management, and communication Experience developing technical strategies that influence product, technology, or manufacturing roadmaps Benefits Micron offers a choice of medical, dental and vision plans in all locations enabling team members to select the plans that best meet their family healthcare needs and budget.
