As a Quality Engineer Specialist Sr within PNC's Technology - Digital Retail organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Strongsville, OH, Dallas, TX, or Birmingham, AL.
As as Quality Engineer Specialist Sr your job responsivities will include, but are not limited to:
• Reviewing upcoming stories and features to ensure requirements and acceptance criteria are testable and complete.
• Designing and owning test strategy and coverage for complex business flows spanning UI, APIs, fraud checks, and downstream systems.
• Creating and executing test cases in Jira/Xray and ensuring execution evidence meets enterprise standards.
• Performing functional, integration, regression, accessibility, and cross browser testing based on release risk.
• Leading SIT and Regression planning, including sequencing, dependencies, environments, and test data readiness.
• Logging, tracking, and validating defects through closure in partnership with development teams.
• Taking ownership of release level documentation (e.g., test plan or test strategy, test summary or release report), ensuring accuracy, traceability, and alignment with test execution and risk posture.
• Reviewing automation coverage and collaborating to improve reliability, reduce flakiness, and support CI/CD.
• Communicating clear testing status, risks, and release readiness to stakeholders and leadership.
• Mentoring QEs on test design quality, governance expectations, and tooling best practices.
Candidates must the following proficiencies:
• Hands‑on experience with Jira/Xray for test management and execution
• Familiarity with Confluence or SharePoint for test documentation
• Experience testing customer‑facing, enterprise web applications
• Test automation experience (Karate, Cucumber/Gherkin, Selenium)
• API testing experience (Postman, Rest Assured, SoapUI)
• Working knowledge of Git/Bitbucket and CI/CD (e.g., Jenkins)
• Ability to assess and improve automation quality

  • Develops and reviews test strategies and plans to ensure alignment with project goals, including scope, tools, and testing approaches.
  • Identifies and addresses resource and environment gaps, escalating unresolved or recurring issues to appropriate Quality Engineer leadership.
  • Monitors testing risks and defects, ensuring they meet ECO standards and are accurately reported.
  • Prepares and delivers test summary reports and documentation for Technology leaders, Governance/Risk teams, and business stakeholders.
  • Collaborates across teams and participates in Quality Engineer CoP meetings to support continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
