Valle Verde in Santa Barbara, CA, recently named "Best Continuing Care Retirement Community in the U.S. 2025" by Newsweek magazine is seeking a full-time Nurse Supervisor RN for its Skilled Nursing Center/Health Center..

** Full-time, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday 10 am to 6 pm ** Salary Range based on 4 day work week; $ 97,000 to 108,000 (DOE) Salaried Exempt position

The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for the nursing needs of residents, while actively incorporating our “Philosophy for Person-Directed Care.” Ensures a safe and healthy environment for residents, staff, and visitors to participate in the resident’s daily life rhythm.

As the Nurse Supervisor, you will:

Supervise and direct work of other RNs, LVN/LPNs, CNA direct care team in skilled nurse setting.

  • Supervises and directs care partners by providing support, encouragement, and direction as appropriate;
  • Assesses resident’s needs at the time of move in and continually evaluates residents’ condition. Promotes the highest functional level of independence possible (keeping in compliance with state and federal regulations, and the community’s safety procedures);
  • Facilitates nursing care provided to all residents and includes residents in decision making processes;
  • Assures that nursing staff is carrying out their respective duties toward resident care. This includes monitoring and responding to arial emergency call alerts and other resident and family care needs are met appropriately and in a timely manner;
  • Utilizes the nursing process to identify resident conditions that require further evaluation and treatment by a physician;
  • Reports significant medical changes to the relevant Team Members, Physician, Assistant Administrator of Resident Services Associate Executive Director and designated family members as appropriate;
  • Responds to emergency situations, carries out physician orders, and documents the event, interventions, and outcomes;
  • Accurately and completely performs direct nursing services, such as, medication administration, treatments, personal care and other nursing procedures.
  • Accurately receives documents and transcribes Physician Orders with the appropriate follow-through in a timely fashion, specifically advocating resident safety;
  • Assures proper documentation including but not limited to: consents, summary notes, appraisals, service plans, medication records, incidents, etc.
  • Completes risk management, progress notes, assessments, weekly summaries, and service plans;
  • Coordinates the residents’ plan of care with the interdisciplinary team (IDT), physicians, medical personnel, and resident’s family/responsible party;
  • Have the freedom to organize your work in a way that meets both resident goals and regulatory requirements.

REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • Completion of Accredited Licensed Nursing Program (RN)
  • AS or BS Degree, preferred or equivalent combination of education, training, and related professional experience

Experience/Training

  • Minimum of 2 years professional managerial experience in related field
  • Clinical observation and assessment skills
  • Proficient computer skills necessary to complete documentation, review electronic health records and communicate with team members

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Current RN license
  • Current CPR certification
