Full Time Precept information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Full Time Preceptor, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Full Time Preceptor, you need a solid background in your clinical specialty, relevant professional licensure, and experience in both hands-on practice and teaching. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs), clinical simulation tools, and current educational methodologies is typically required. Strong leadership, effective communication, mentorship abilities, and adaptability help you guide and support learners. These skills ensure that new practitioners are competently trained, fostering high standards of patient care and professional development.

What are some typical challenges faced by full-time preceptors when balancing teaching responsibilities with their own professional development?

Full-time preceptors often juggle the dual demands of supporting students or trainees while maintaining their own clinical or professional duties. One common challenge is managing time effectively to provide meaningful mentorship without compromising patient care or personal career growth. Additionally, staying current with best practices and integrating new teaching methods can be demanding. Many preceptors find that strong organizational skills and open communication with both students and team members help manage these challenges while fostering a supportive learning environment.

What is a Full Time Precept?

A Full Time Precept typically refers to a full-time position in which an experienced professional, often in healthcare or education, mentors and supervises students or new employees as they gain practical experience. The preceptor provides guidance, support, and evaluation to help the learner develop the necessary skills and knowledge for their role. This role is crucial for bridging the gap between theoretical learning and real-world practice, ensuring that individuals are competent and confident in their professional duties.

Operations Manager/IT Assistant - HomeWorks by Precept

HomeWorks Operations Manager & IT Assistant Precept Marketing Group, Inc. — Elverson, PA | Full-Time, On-Site | Reports to VP of Homeschool

Position Summary The Operations Manager & IT Assistant serves the operational needs of the homeschool division and Precept home office, overseeing Curriculum Display logistics, HomeWorks Event management, inventory coordination, first-level technology support, and general office and facilities support. This role ensures the physical and logistical infrastructure of the HomeWorks Consultant network runs smoothly, enabling Consultants and staff to focus on education rather than operational friction. Ideal for an organized, detail-oriented individual comfortable managing both physical logistics and light technology support in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Display Management

  • Book hotel meeting rooms and secure venues for Curriculum Displays
  • List Curriculum Displays on the HomeWorks website and keep details current
  • Coordinate Consultant staffing for each Display
  • Serve as logistical point of contact for hosting Consultants

HomeWorks Event Management

  • Review, list, and maintain the database of 900+ HomeWorks Events annually
  • Ensure event information is accurate and updated in a timely manner
  • Serve as point of contact for event-related logistics questions

Convention Logistics

  • Build and stock convention shipping crates; replace old or damaged materials
  • Manage freight shipping, pickups, tracking, and returns
  • Provide input on booth layout with the VP of Homeschool and Marketing
  • Create basic phone-recorded training videos showing Consultants how to set up displays
  • Occasionally attend conventions on-site; primarily behind-the-scenes logistics

Consultant Rewards & Recognition

  • Process and distribute approximately 150 reward gift cards annually
  • Maintain accurate records of reward distributions

Basic IT Support

  • Provide first-level tech support for HomeWorks and Precept staff
  • Set up and troubleshoot mobile devices and laptops
  • Manage password recovery and account access requests
  • Receive new hardware, track inventory, and manage equipment returns from departing staff
  • Escalate complex issues to appropriate IT resources

Special Event Setup & Support

  • Coordinate physical setup and teardown for internal events including the annual Sales Conference and HomeWorks Connection
  • Assist with venue logistics, equipment staging, signage, and materials prep
  • Serve as on-site support during events

General Office & Facilities Support

  • Assist with office and warehouse tasks: unloading deliveries, moving inventory, maintaining a clean warehouse
  • Perform local delivery pickups and drop-offs
  • Provide transportation including airport runs for staff or guests

Required Qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple concurrent logistics tasks
  • Excellent attention to detail and follow-through
  • Comfortable with physical logistics: packing, shipping, inventory tracking
  • Basic proficiency with technology (email, spreadsheets, common business apps)
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in event coordination, logistics, or operations
  • Familiarity with homeschool curriculum or the homeschool community
  • Experience providing basic helpdesk or IT support
  • Experience with shipping platforms (FedEx, UPS, or similar)

What Success Looks Like Consultants and staff rarely have to think about the operational details this position manages. Curriculum Displays arrive on time and fully stocked. Events are listed accurately. Gift cards go out without delay. When a staff member can't get into their laptop or needs a new phone set up, there is someone to call. The office and warehouse run smoothly. The VP of Homeschool can trust that the operational foundation is solid and focus energy on strategy and growth.
