Full Time Pool Store roles involve longer hours, more responsibilities, and often require certifications like lifeguarding. Part Time Pool Store positions offer flexible hours with fewer certifications needed. Both roles operate in similar environments, but full-time staff typically handle more comprehensive duties.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Pool Store Associate, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Pool Store Associate, you need knowledge of pool maintenance and chemicals, basic sales skills, and preferably a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and water testing equipment is commonly required. Strong customer service, attention to detail, and effective communication help you assist customers and resolve their issues efficiently. These skills ensure customers receive accurate advice and products for pool care, leading to repeat business and safe pool maintenance.

What are some common challenges faced by employees working full-time in a pool store, and how can they be addressed?

Working full-time in a pool store often involves balancing customer service with technical tasks, such as water testing and equipment maintenance. One common challenge is staying updated on a wide range of pool products and troubleshooting customer issues effectively. To address this, employees benefit from regular product training and clear communication with team members. Additionally, managing inventory and handling seasonal fluctuations can be demanding, but strong organizational skills and teamwork help ensure smooth operations throughout the year.

What are the typical responsibilities of a full-time pool store employee?

A full-time pool store employee is responsible for assisting customers with pool supplies, equipment, and chemical purchases. They provide advice on pool maintenance, water testing, and safety protocols. Employees also handle inventory, restock shelves, operate the cash register, and may assist with scheduling pool services or repairs. Good customer service and basic knowledge of pool care are essential for this role.

Store Clerk (FullTime, Seasonal)

Be the Heart of Our Campground Store!
Set among the trees and trails of Door County, Tranquil Timbers Campground is a place where families, friends, and campers come to relax, connect, and enjoy the great outdoors. As part of the Equity LifeStyle Properties (ELS) family, we're proud to offer a warm, welcoming environment for both guests and staff alike.

We're looking for a Store Clerk to run our onsite campground store - the friendly face that provides guests with everything from s'mores supplies to souvenirs. This is a fulltime seasonal role (through October), perfect for someone who's outgoing, organized, and enjoys taking ownership of their space.

What You'll Do

As our Store Clerk, you'll make sure guests have what they need while keeping the store inviting, well-stocked, and efficient.

  • Greet guests warmly and provide helpful, attentive service throughout their visit.

  • Handle sales transactions, process payments, and operate pointofsale systems accurately.

  • Maintain proper cash handling procedures, balance daily sales reports, and prepare deposits.

  • Stock shelves, receive deliveries, and manage inventory counts.

  • Create engaging merchandise displays to keep the store looking fresh and welcoming.

  • Keep the store neat and clean, including organizing shelves, sweeping, and removing trash.

  • Answer guest questions about merchandise, the property, or local attractions with a friendly, helpful attitude.

  • Collaborate with campground management to monitor inventory needs and suggest restocks.

  • Assist with closing of campground pool and activity center.

What You Bring

We're looking for a motivated selfstarter who enjoys working independently but also knows how to make every guest feel welcome.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • One to three years of retail, merchandising, or cash-handling experience preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.

  • Basic computer literacy and POS experience preferred.

  • Valid driver's license, good driving record, and current auto insurance.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain active throughout the day.

  • Availability to work weekends and holidays.

  • Operator's license is a plus.

Why You'll Love It Here

There's something special about spending the season at Tranquil Timbers. You'll get to know our regular campers, enjoy the peaceful surroundings of Door County, and be part of a supportive, energetic team. You'll also have the freedom to take ownership of your shop, use your creativity, and make the store a highlight of every guest's stay.
