Job description

The primary purpose of the Project Manager role is to lead, oversee and ensure the successful delivery and management of complex projects within scope, quality, time and cost constraints that may be clearly defined or may require dynamic change management to deliver business value. Ability to identify and communicate risks, issues, and mitigation plans to technical and business stakeholders.
This is an onsite position, located in Springfield, Missouri.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones, and required activities and tasks.
  • Communication to project sponsor, champion, stakeholders and project team members.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure that the project progresses on schedule and within budget.
  • Prepare estimates and project budget.
  • Provide leadership and motivation to project team members throughout the project life cycle, and confer with project staff to outline work plan.
  • Utilize PPM Pro for project reporting and tracking of finances and resources.
  • Prepare status reports and modify schedules or plans as required.
  • Ensure that project goals are accomplished and are in line with business objectives.
  • Establish standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation.
  • Benchmark project management performance to identify improvements and achieve higher capability maturity in project and portfolio management.
  • Mentor and coach Project Managers as requested.
  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree or comparable Project Management experience
  • Preferred Degree: Project Management, Business Administration or IT
  • Certificate(s) or License(s): PMP preferred
  • Experience: 3 to 8 years in Project Management

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
  • Ability to lead and motivate others; demonstrating empathy and knowledge of personality types.
  • Familiar with project management methodologies (for example, PMI and agile).
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to working in an entrepreneurial environment and to interacting with senior leadership.
  • Knowledge of project planning tools.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Expertise in setting and managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Effective influencing and negotiating skills in an environment where this role may not directly control resources.
  • Understanding of business needs with the ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute a project resource plan that ensures that the right people are in the right place doing the right things at the right time.
