JOB DESCRIPTION

Housekeeper / Housekeeping Inspector (Dual Role) — Hotel Indigo Baton Rouge Downtown

Full-Time | Hourly | Baton Rouge, LA

Come Shine With Us!

Do you take pride in a job done right? At Hotel Indigo Baton Rouge, we're looking for a detail-obsessed, self-motivated professional to step into a dual Housekeeper/Housekeeping Inspector role — a rare opportunity to both roll up your sleeves on the floor and lead by example, ensuring every guest room meets our five-star standard. If you love the satisfaction of a perfectly made bed and the pride of catching what others miss, this is the job for you.

What You'll Do

  • Clean and prepare guest rooms to Hotel Indigo's exacting standards, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and restocking amenities
  • Inspect completed rooms for quality, cleanliness, and safety before they're released to guests
  • Spot-check housekeeping staff work and provide friendly, constructive feedback
  • Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and supply shortages promptly
  • Maintain accurate room status logs and communicate with the front desk on room readiness
  • Help train new housekeeping team members on cleaning standards and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with brand and safety standards (OSHA, bloodborne pathogens, chemical handling)
  • Assist with deep-cleaning projects and turnover during high-occupancy periods

What You Bring

  • Previous housekeeping experience required; hotel inspection or supervisory experience a big plus
  • Sharp eye for detail — you notice the things other people walk right past
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, team-first attitude
  • Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs throughout your shift
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as needed
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus, not required

Why You'll Love Working Here

  • Competitive hourly pay — commensurate with experience
  • Growth opportunity — this dual role is a launchpad toward Executive Housekeeper and hotel leadership
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid Time Off and company-paid holidays
  • Hotel travel discounts across our portfolio
  • A supportive team culture that celebrates hard work and high standards
