Job description


Responsible for storing and issuing merchandise
Responsibilities
  • Place incoming merchandise in proper location
  • Inspect outgoing merchandise for accuracy and quality
  • Issue amount of merchandise ordered on requisition
  • Advise lead clerk of out-of-stock items and quantity discrepancies
  • Deliver merchandise to requesting departments in a timely, professional manner
  • Return pallets and milk crafts to warehouse and stack properly
  • Offload merchandise from service elevators
  • Return all warehouse equipment to the proper location
  • Report any safety or OSHA violations to Lead Warehouse Clerk/Supervisor
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment
  • Exemplify our core values, family style service, our mission and vision

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Ability to perform basic math
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with fellow employees and staff
  • General knowledge of warehouse procedures
  • Understand and comply with all company and departmental rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Requires coordination, the ability to follow instructions, memorization, independent judgment and decision-making skills

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Work is performed inside in areas that may be unusually hot, cold, smoky, noisy, dimly lit or illuminated, around moving objects, in high places and slippery surfaces
  • May require working in cold storage units with temperatures as low as freezing range
  • May be subject to fumes/odors and dirt/dust
  • Work entails use of electrical and mechanical devices
  • Frequent contact with staff and management
  • Requires seldom sitting, crouching, kneeling, climbing and balancing on a ladder up to 12 feet, lift/carry over 100 lbs., use of fine motor skills
  • Occasional bending, reaching, stooping, squatting and side to side motion from floor to 6ft; push/pull and grasp a static push/pull exertion effort of 70lbs, lifting up to 60lbs
  • Use of equipment such as electric pallet jacks, manual pallet jacks, carts and hand trucks
  • Frequent standing, walking, repetitive use of both hands to include firm/strong grasping, and finger manipulation.
  • Requires normal sense of touch and sound
  • Requires near/far visual acuity and field of vision, and the ability to distinguish letters and symbols, simple reading, writing
  • Requires math skills and performance of simple tasks
