The Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center is currently seeking a full time Pharmacy Technician 1 to work in Miami. The Pharmacist Technician 1 prepares medications for patients under the guidance of a Pharmacist. Assists the Pharmacist with support activities and processes required to dispense medical prescriptions, price-checking, and restocking of drugs.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Collects, inputs, and verifies prescription, refill, and patient information and maintains patient records.

  • Assists pharmacists in filling orders and preparing labels for unit doses and prepackaged pharmaceuticals.

  • Receives and stocks incoming medical supplies and drugs.

  • Refers providers' calls and medical questions to Pharmacist.

  • Participates in orientation and assigned training program to attain competency in pharmacy technician duties.

  • Stays abreast of basic knowledge of pharmacy law, regulations and standards, pharmacy informatics and technology including medication dispensing systems, and pharmacy calculations. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • State of FL registration as a Pharmacy Technician
