Schedule: Full-Time/Days, Evenings, and Weekends available; schedules may vary based on client needs.
Pay: $18.31/hr. + $0.75/hr. differential on weekends, $1.50/hr. differential on holidays.
Job Description:

We are seeking compassionate and dependable Personal Support Specialists (PSS) to assist seniors living throughout Northern Maine. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference by helping older adults maintain their comfort, safety, and independence at home. Employees working qualifying schedules may be eligible for health insurance, dental, vision, earned paid leave, and additional benefits.

The Personal Support Specialist will provide non-medical in-home support services tailored to each clientโ€™s individual needs. Responsibilities may include assisting with daily living activities, companionship, meal preparation, housekeeping, transportation, and personal care support. The ideal candidate will be patient, respectful, and committed to providing high-quality care while helping clients maintain dignity and independence in their daily lives.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist clients with daily living activities such as dressing, grooming, hygiene, and mobility support.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients in their homes.
  • Prepare meals and assist with light housekeeping duties, including laundry, dishes, and general cleaning.
  • Help clients with errands, grocery shopping, and transportation to appointments as needed.
  • Monitor client well-being and report concerns or changes in condition to supervisors or family members.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and client activities.
  • Follow individualized care plans and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Support a safe, clean, and comfortable home environment for clients.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, family members, and care team staff.
  • Assist with additional support tasks as requested by supervisors or care coordinators.

Job Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent education required.
  • PSS certification required; training opportunities may be available for qualified candidates.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and reliable transportation required.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to assist clients with mobility and daily living tasks as needed.
  • Background check required.
