Their primary role is to care for patients recovering from anesthesia after surgical or procedural interventions that do not require an overnight hospital stay. These nurses monitor vital signs, manage pain, assess for complications, and provide education to patients and families before discharge. The position requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to respond quickly to changes in patients' conditions.

Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs), patient monitoring systems, and Basic Life Support (BLS)/Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications is typically required. Outstanding communication, critical thinking, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential soft skills. These competencies ensure safe, efficient recovery for patients after surgery and support collaboration with the broader healthcare team.
