Job description

Job Title: OSP Field Technician
Location: Raleigh, N.C.
Tower Engineering Professionals is seeking a full-time OSP Field Technician in our Raleigh, N.C. office. As a Field Technician, you will serve as an integral member of our engineering team. Tower Engineering Professionals offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical and dental insurance, paid vacation and holidays, 401k with company match, and a relaxed, fun environment.
Responsibilities:
Field Duties (75- 85% of work time):
• Must be able to travel up to five days a week (overnight stay included).
• Must be able to work in adverse settings and climatic conditions
• Must have a labor intensive attitude and be capable of being on your feet throughout the day.
• Operate and maintain field equipment and tools
• Collect and record existing field measurements for underground and aerial utilities as it pertains to each job; using measuring wheel, hand tools, lasers, and photogrammetry equipment
• Anticipate potential conflicts in proposed design and note any alternate options for the project manager to review
• Maintains field data until it can be transferred to manager
• Communicate effectively on a daily basis with project manager
Office Duties (15- 25% of work time):
• Read and interpret structural and architectural drawings, specifications, and design requirements related to telecommunication applications.
• Conduct due diligence for multiple projects prior to field work.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
• Skilled at managing all assigned task with little supervision
• Must be able to understand civil engineering standards, requirements, projects proposed by other utilities or government municipalities.
• Well-developed decision-making, analytical, and problem solving skills, displaying the ability to provide a solution where none apparently exists.
• Excellent oral/written communication skills, strong organizational skills, high level of integrity, and strong team player.
• Ability to work under severe time constraints and produce at a high level.
• Proven track record and reputation for being a gracious, flexible quick learner and accurate worker with a high attention to detail and follow-up.
• Represent the company in a professional manner at all times.
• Physical ability to lift 25+lbs. and be comfortable working in an outdoor environment in all types of weather
Qualifications:
• Must have High School diploma or equivalent
• 0-2 years of experience with ability to take direction and learn from experience
• Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills; self-starter, team player, and results oriented.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team
• Demonstrated willingness to learn
• A valid driver's license, including a clean driving record, with the ability to be covered by company auto insurance plan
