Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Optical Sales Associate. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sales, excellent communication skills, and preferably a strong understanding of eyewear fashion and trends. This role is integral to providing exceptional customer service and driving revenue growth through the sale of eyewear products.

Duties & Responsibilities: Report to Optical Manager

  • Assist customers in selecting eyewear frames and lenses that meet their visual needs, style preferences, and budget.
  • Provide personalized recommendations and guidance on lens options, coatings, and additional accessories.
  • With oversight, accurately measure pupillary distance for bifocal, trifocal, occupational and progressive lenses.
  • Prepare and analyze sales reports and take corrective actions to improve performance and efficiency.
  • Promote offers and sell eye services to customers.
  • Process transactions accurately and efficiently using our point-of-sale system.
  • Meet or exceed individual sales goals and quotas on a consistent basis.
  • Maintain a clean and organized retail environment, including displays and inventory.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, new product and optical technology.
  • Handle eyewear adjustments and minor repairs, such as tightening screws and replacing nose pads, to ensure customer satisfaction and comfort.
  • Manage inventory, including receiving new stock, conducting stock counts, and organizing display areas to showcase the latest eyewear trends.
  • Coordinate appointments for eye examinations with the optometrist, ensuring a smooth flow of customers through the store.
  • Support team member engagement within all areas of responsibility to enable the application of policies, procedures, and compliance.
  • Support and process other work as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with at least 3 years of sales experience.
  • An associate degree or certification in the field with at least 1 year of experience in sales is a plus.
  • Passion for sales and to exceed sales quotas is mandatory.
  • Ability to meet the minimum sales expectations weekly and/or monthly is mandatory.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to company systems, strategies, and processes.
  • Optical sales experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person.
  • Knowledge of ophthalmology and medical terminology is a huge plus.
  • Experience with POS system is highly encouraged.
  • Previous sales experience in a retail, preferably in the optical industry.
