Guided Wave Testing (GWT) Technician

Job Duties

  • Conducting guided wave testing (GWT) on a variety of piping and pipelines.
  • Interpreting GWT inspection data and producing high quality reports.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and technical services, to resolve any issues and complete projects.
  • Maintaining knowledge of industry best practices, safety standards, and regulatory requirements related to GWT inspection.
  • Staying up to date with the latest GWT inspection techniques and technology.


Required Skills and Experience:

  • Guided Ultrasonics Limited (GUL) level 1 certification and a minimum of 1-2 years' experience in NDT inspection. 
  • GUL level 2 certification would be considered an asset. 
  • CGSB Ultrasonic Level 2 would be considered an asset. 
  • Strong knowledge of GWT inspection techniques and methodologies.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Willingness to work in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.


Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The successful candidate will have access to health benefits and may be required to join a union affiliated with the QCCC.


Legal entitlement to work in Canada is mandatory.
