Job description

Make an impact at NTT Global Data Centers
Join NTT Global Data Centers and be part of a team that drives innovation and sustainability in the digital world. With over 150 data centers across more than 20 countries globally, we offer unparalleled opportunities to work on cutting-edge technology and transformative projects. Experience a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive workplace where your ideas are valued, and your growth is supported.
Your role at a glance
NTT Global Data Centers is seeking a senior, commercially driven leader to originate, structure, and secure natural gas supply across the United States, enabling power generation for new data center developments and behind-the-meter (BTM) solutions.
The role will also serve as a global subject matter expert, supporting EMEA and APAC teams with strategy, deal structuring, and market insight.
This position is critical to overcoming power constraints and ensuring speed-to-market in competitive, supply-constrained regions.
What we are looking for
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. U.S. Gas Supply Origination & Execution
• Lead identification and procurement of firm, scalable natural gas supply for U.S. data center developments.
• Evaluate and secure access to pipeline capacity, storage, and LNG alternatives where applicable.
• Develop region-specific sourcing strategies (ERCOT, PJM, MISO, Southeast, etc.) aligned with site expansion.
2. Commercial Structuring & Negotiation
• Lead negotiation of Gas Supply Agreements (GSAs), transportation agreements, and capacity releases.
• Structure commercial frameworks across spot, mid-term, and long-term supply, balancing flexibility vs. price certainty.
• Partner with finance and legal to manage pricing structures (index vs. fixed), credit terms, and risk allocation.
3. Site Development & Behind-the-Meter Enablement
• Support land and power teams by assessing gas availability, interconnection feasibility, and infrastructure lead times during site selection.
• Enable behind-the-meter generation strategies, including gas-fired plants, microgrids, and hybrid energy systems.
• Identify early-stage constraints (pipeline congestion, permitting, lateral build requirements) and propose solutions.
4. Infrastructure Development & Strategic Partnerships
• Build and manage relationships with producers, pipelines, utilities, LNG providers, and midstream developers.
• Originate opportunities for new pipeline laterals, compression, storage, and on-site LNG regasification.
• Evaluate co-investment or partnership structures to unlock constrained supply.
5. Global Advisory
• Serve as internal SME for natural gas markets, contracting, and infrastructure strategy.
• Support regional teams on deal structuring, supplier engagement, and risk evaluation.
• Provide insights into global gas dynamics and implications for local strategy.
6. Market Intelligence & Risk Management
• Maintain real-time understanding of U.S. and global gas markets, regulatory environments, and geopolitical risks.
• Advise leadership on portfolio exposure, hedging strategies, and long-term fuel positioning.
• Track policy trends impacting gas usage, emissions, and future fuel alternatives (RNG, hydrogen blending).
KNOWLEDGE & ATTRIBUTES
  • Demonstrated success negotiating complex gas supply and transportation agreements.
  • Experience supporting power generation projects
  • Exposure to international gas markets (EMEA/APAC) is preferred.
  • Ability to translate physical infrastructure constraints into executable commercial strategies.
  • Executive presence with ability to influence site selection, investment decisions, and cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to operate in fast-moving, ambiguous environments where infrastructure must be created-not just sourced.
  • Strong stakeholder management across internal teams, suppliers, regulators, and partners.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Energy Systems, Economics, Finance, or a related field required

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • 10-15+ years in natural gas sourcing, trading, midstream, or energy infrastructure development, with strong U.S. market experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to travel by airplane
  • Operate computer, peripherals, and other office equipment.

Work conditions & other requirements
  • Remote-based position with extensive daily use of digital collaboration tools
  • Remote with travel approximately 15% of the time.

Compensation Pay Range
"This is a remote position that requires reliable internet connection and electricity. A monthly stipend is provided to cover expenses associated with working remotely and use of a personal mobile device.
NTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. offers competitive compensation based on experience, education, and location. Base salary for this position is $160,000 - 215,000.
All regular full-time employees are eligible for an annual bonus; payout is dependent upon individual and company performance.
Employees receive paid time-off, medical, dental, and vision benefits, life and supplemental insurance, short-term and long-term disability, flexible spending account, and 401k retirement plan to create a rich Total Rewards package."
