Overview

Join a department committed to excellence! Our organization is on the lookout for a Musculoskeletal Radiologist to enhance our esteemed Department of Radiology.

The Department of Radiology, founded by the trailblazer Alice Ettinger, MD, is recognized for introducing the spot film imaging technique in the U.S. We honor her legacy by engaging in innovative research and academic endeavors that focus on comprehensive patient care rather than just imaging. This role offers the chance to collaborate with a dedicated team at a level 1 trauma center, serving a diverse patient demographic.

Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant will have a robust background in Musculoskeletal Radiology, with expertise in interpreting MSK MR and CT scans. Basic procedural skills in MSK are essential, as the role typically involves performing around two procedures daily, including joint injections, aspirations, and arthrograms. This position is perfect for someone eager to enhance patient care, engage in clinical research, and contribute to the education of future radiologists at a leading academic institution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver outstanding patient care by interpreting MSK MR and CT scans, bone/joint x-rays, and performing MSK procedures (joint injections/aspirations and arthrograms), along with limited MSK/soft tissue ultrasound interpretation.
  • Engage in teaching radiology residents and medical students, while actively participating in research and quality improvement initiatives with students and residents.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary and educational conferences.
  • Receive clinical and non-clinical work-based incentives, awarded annually during the performance review with the Chair.
  • Maintain an on-site presence for collaboration with department members, with the option for partial remote work.
  • Work weekday shifts from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with remote weekend on-call duties (Plain Film, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) supported by home workstations.
  • Explore additional opportunities such as moonlighting, academic time, administrative responsibilities, and a Section Chief position based on experience and career goals.
Requirements
  • Possession of an MD, DO, MBBS, or equivalent degree.
  • Board eligibility or certification from the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or American Osteopathic Board of Radiology (AOBR).
  • Completion or in-progress status of an MSK radiology fellowship at the time of application, or scheduled to complete post-residency.
  • Medical licensure or eligibility in Massachusetts.
Compensation

The salary range for this position is $440,000.00 - $535,000.00 annually. Actual compensation will be determined during the selection process and will consider various factors, including relevant experience, education, internal equity, and academic rank.
