Job description

Landscape Construction Estimator
Full-Time | Modesto, CA
$70,000 - $80,000

We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Landscape Construction Estimator to join our team.

If you're ready for more autonomy, meaningful work, and the opportunity to directly impact company growth — this is your seat at the table. We're not corporate. No red tape, no micromanagement — just smart people doing quality work and building great things together.

What You’ll Do

As a key member of our team, you’ll take ownership of the estimating process while contributing to project management and pre-construction operations. Responsibilities include:

  • Manage end-to-end estimating: quantity takeoffs, bid strategy, and final proposal development
  • Lead weekly estimating reviews with the owner and team
  • Oversee multiple bids and prepare for future projects simultaneously
  • Develop ROMs and budget estimates for design-build and conceptual phases
  • Review and interpret construction drawings, specs, and details for accurate cost projections
  • Create clear and detailed proposals with defined scopes, exclusions, and assumptions
  • Source and maintain pricing from vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Analyze project documentation for constructability and value-engineering opportunities
  • Ensure smooth handoffs from pre-construction to operations
  • Track and analyze bid performance, margins, and closing strategies
  • Assist with procurement and ordering of materials to meet project timelines
  • Support project management from award through closeout
  • Contribute to billing and financial tracking, including job costing and invoicing
  • Perform on-site measuring & layouts to create quotes from when plans are not available

You’re a Great Fit If You:

  • Have 3+ years of experience in commercial landscape construction estimating, pre-construction, or related roles
  • Bring hands-on experience in project management within construction or landscaping
  • Are detail-oriented, organized, and proactive — you think three steps ahead
  • Thrive working independently and take pride in making informed decisions
  • Are tech-savvy and familiar with tools like Microsoft Excel, PlanSwift, Microsoft SharePoint and general computer software knowledge.
  • Communicate clearly and confidently in both written and verbal formats
  • Can handle fast-paced environments and enjoy wearing multiple hats
  • Are bilingual (English/Spanish) — a strong plus for communication in the field
  • CAD software experience a plus

*Benefit Conditions - Waiting period may apply/Only full-time employees are eligible
