Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the estimating team to develop accurate, competitive, and timely cost estimates and proposals.
  • Identify technical and commercial requirements, clarify incomplete information, and coordinate with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve questions before quotation.
  • Read and interpret fabrication drawings, general arrangement drawings, bills of material, customer specifications, and other technical documents.
  • Support the preparation and presentation of proposals to end users, EPC firms, contractors, and other customers.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, procurement, project management, welding, machining, and shop personnel to validate scope, material requirements, fabrication methods, schedules, and estimated labor hours.
  • Evaluate repair inquiries and field-generated information to help define practical scopes for inspection, repair, alteration, retube, and refurbishment work.
  • Communicate directly with customers to understand operational needs, explain proposed solutions, address technical and commercial questions, and support the overall sales process.
  • Follow up on quotations, document customer feedback, and help move opportunities through the sales pipeline toward award.
  • Apply sound judgment, urgency, and attention to detail while balancing multiple opportunities and changing priorities in a fast-paced fabrication environment.

Competencies:

  • Working knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication processes, preferably related to shell and tube heat exchangers or pressure vessels.
  • Strong ability to collaborate with estimators and cross-functional teams to develop complete and accurate proposals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and technical documentation.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple active quotations and deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment supporting both new fabrication and repair work.
  • Familiarity with ASME Section VIII, TEMA standards, and applicable customer specifications (Preferred).
  • Knowledge of common materials used in shell and tube heat exchanger fabrication, including carbon steels, stainless steels, low-alloy steels, and nickel alloys (Preferred).
  • Experience with shell and tube heat exchangers, pressure vessels, exchanger components, or repair and alteration work (Preferred).
  • General understanding of the sales process, including opportunity qualification, proposal development, quotation follow-up, and customer relationship management (Preferred).
  • Exposure to refinery, petrochemical, chemical, midstream, or other industrial process facilities (Preferred).
  • Experience preparing technical and commercial proposals for end users, EPC firms, and contractors (Preferred).
