[About the Role]
Join a dynamic team as a Tech 2, Microbiology Development contractor, contributing to cutting-edge pharmaceutical and medical device testing onsite in Franklin Lakes, NJ. This role is ideal for detail-oriented laboratory professionals eager to advance their expertise in a regulated BioSafety Level-2 (BSL-2) environment, supporting essential product safety and efficacy initiatives.
[Responsibilities]
  • Execute microbiological testing of pharmaceutical products, raw materials, and medical devices under GLP and BSL-2 conditions.
  • Perform routine and non-routine testing using USP, ASTM, ISO, and CLSI methodologies, including time-kill assay, MIC/MBC, sterility, microbial limits, and bioburden.
  • Adhere strictly to established SOPs and maintain rigorous documentation following GDP and GLP standards.
  • Assist in the qualification and calibration of laboratory equipment and instruments.
  • Proactively complete projects independently with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain a safe, compliant, and organized laboratory workspace.
  • Occasionally support weekend laboratory operations as required.

[Required Skills and Experience]
  • Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biological Sciences, or Chemistry.
  • Minimum one year of hands-on experience in a microbiology laboratory setting.
  • Demonstrated expertise in BSL-2 laboratory practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to prioritize workload and work both independently and within a team.
  • Comfortable with extended periods of bench work and use of PPE.

[Preferred Skills]
  • Experience conducting microbiological testing in a GXP laboratory.
  • Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
  • Prior use of advanced microbiological testing and documentation software.
