Big Ideas Educational Services
Full-Time | Starting Salary: $60,000 annually
About the Opportunity
Big Ideas Educational Services is seeking an experienced and passionate Curriculum & Academic Success Specialist to lead and strengthen academic programming across our out-of-school programs.
This is an exciting opportunity for an educator who is ready to expand their impact beyond one classroom. The Curriculum & Academic Success Specialist will oversee Big Ideas curricula, develop engaging lesson plans and instructional resources, train and coach staff, monitor student achievement data, and help ensure high-quality instruction across our program sites.
This position will also lead and direct two part-time Lead Teachers who will provide additional instructional and curriculum support across the organization.
As Big Ideas continues to grow, this individual will play an important role in shaping our academic strategy and ensuring our programs produce meaningful outcomes for the students and families we serve.
What You'll Do
  • Lead the development, organization, implementation, and continuous improvement of Big Ideas curricula.
  • Develop standards-aligned lesson plans, curriculum maps, pacing guides, small-group activities, interventions, and instructional resources.
  • Ensure academic programming complements students' school-day learning while remaining engaging and appropriate for an out-of-school environment.
  • Train and coach teachers, Activity Leaders, Site Managers, and other program staff on curriculum and effective instructional practices.
  • Lead and provide direction to two part-time Lead Teachers, including coordinating observations, instructional support, and academic projects.
  • Conduct program-site observations and provide supportive feedback to strengthen instructional quality.
  • Monitor student academic data, assessments, grades, attendance, and other available indicators to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Develop strategies and interventions to address academic needs and strengthen student outcomes.
  • Track progress toward organizational, program, and grant-funded academic goals.
  • Research and recommend curriculum resources, instructional strategies, educational technology, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with leadership, Site Managers, teachers, school partners, and other team members to strengthen academic programming.
  • Help develop academic systems and resources that can successfully grow with the organization.

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
  • Classroom teaching, curriculum development, instructional coaching, or related educational experience.
  • Experience developing lesson plans, curriculum, or instructional resources.
  • Experience training, coaching, mentoring, or supporting educators.
  • Strong understanding of effective instructional practices and student-centered learning.
  • Ability to analyze student data and translate findings into actionable academic strategies.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and project-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across multiple program locations.
  • Comfortable using educational technology, data systems, and digital curriculum resources.

Preferred: Florida teaching certification, advanced degree in education or a related field, and/or experience with after-school, summer learning, elementary education, literacy, mathematics, STEM, intervention, or grant-funded educational programs.
Compensation & Growth
Starting Salary: $60,000 annually
This is a full-time position with opportunities for professional and compensation growth as the role and Big Ideas continue to expand.
We are looking for someone who wants to grow with our organization and has the potential to take on increased leadership in curriculum strategy, instructional coaching, academic performance, staff development, and organization-wide academic initiatives.
Why Big Ideas?
Our mission is to develop programs that transform the academic visions of the students and families we serve.
Our work is guided by five core values:
Integrity | Commitment | Growth Mindset | Relationships | Excellence
If you're an educator who enjoys creating great curriculum, developing other educators, using data to improve instruction, and building systems that lead to stronger student outcomes, we'd love to hear from you.
