Job description

Stoughton Trailers is a wellestablished, industryleading trailer manufacturer with strong Wisconsin roots and a longstanding reputation for quality, safety, and craftsmanship. From initial build to final assembly, our products are designed and built by skilled teams who take pride in their work and the impact it has on customers nationwide.

Position Details:

Schedule: Monday - Thursday 
1st Shift: 5:30am - 4:00pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for adherence to the Cardinal Rules of Safety. 
  • Lead, execute tasks as a PPAP document coordinator, compile all necessary documentation required within each level of PPAP per Stoughton Trailers' request. Ensure all documents and Stoughton Trailer specific requirements are being met or addressed. 
  • Qualities PPAP sample product(s) and performs random quality checks as indicated by the quality specifications. 
  • Read and interpret inspection procedures, blueprints, engineering drawings, tolerances and specifications and apply requirements to qualify PPAP sample(s). 
  • Responsible for updating any PPAP documentation to reflect any product or process changes resulting from corrective or preventive actions. 
  • Support Quality with APQP process and conduct Quality portion of APQP approval. 
  • Reviews & evaluates product test reports against the customers' compound specifications. 
  • Maintains records and procedures in compliance with all quality standards and certifications. 
  • Assists Quality Engineer(s) and Technicians & other Inspectors in any duties as requested, participate in PPAP review meetings. 
  • Actively document and update PPAP tracker with follow up actions on quality issues with supporting documentation and feedback. 
  • Perform assigned activities relating to ISO/QMS document creation, revision, release, and control, records management and retention. 
  • Support and actively participate in Quality Management System (QMS) audit activities as and when required. 

Qualifications

  • Education: 
    • HS Diploma required with Quality inspection work experience in manufacturing operations. 
    • Associates degree (AA) in a technical curriculum or minimum five years related PPAP experience or equivalent combination or education and experience. 
  • Licenses/Certifications:
    • N/A
  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
    • Basic HS math knowledge/skills, comfortable with numbers, data. 
    • Proficiency working in a computer supported environment with business systems software and Microsoft office programs. 
    • Knowledge of ISO and/or IATF16949 quality systems. 
    • Knowledge of statistical concepts (SPC). 
    • Proficient in use of measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, vision systems, etc. 
    • Blueprint reading skills, including comprehensive understanding of GD&T. 
    • Trained and competent in complying with the AIAG Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) manual and the associated APQP process. 
    • Experience in the use of application of measurement gages/instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, other quality inspection and measurement instruments. 
    • Problem solving aptitude, knowledge in FAI, FPI, ISIR, and blueprint reading.
