Job description

J&D Machine and Gear Inc. is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer & Machinist to join our team. We are a job shop specializing in custom components, low volume production, machine repair, and refurbishment. In business since 1976, we support manufacturing, aerospace, fishing, construction, food, and other industries on projects of all sizes. If you enjoy working on small production runs, challenging one-off parts, and equipment repairs, this could be the perfect fit.

Full-Time, Monday – Friday, OT Available.

Seeking candidates with the following experience & skills:

  • Program new parts using Mastercam for HAAS CNC Lathe
  • Setup and run new parts on HAAS CNC Lathe
  • Setup and run existing programs for HAAS CNC Lathe and/or HAAS CNC Mills
  • Read, interpret, edit, and utilize existing G-code programs
  • Ability to plan machining processes and steps
  • Ability to read and interpret manufacturing prints
  • Proficient in the use of handheld measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers
  • Detail-oriented and able to work independently
  • Good math/trigonometry skills
  • Manual machining experience to support small jobs, tooling and fixtures
  • Maintain machines and keep them clean and running efficiently
  • Mastercam Lathe experience required
  • Fusion 360 CAD/CAM experience a plus
  • Comfortable with multi-axis (4) milling
  • Follow all shop safety policies and practices
