Job description

We are growing and seeking an additional Machine Operator to operate our new Mark Andy flexographic press and join our growing family-oriented business. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a factory setting and operating Mark Andy 2200 label print machinery to cut and customize size/dimensions of labelling and package products. May train right candidate with some flexo machining experience. Salary is competitive with an opportunity for paid overtime.

Responsible for:

  • Press Setup: Install tooling and dies, mount printing plates, and set up anilox rollers, inks, and paper stock.
  • Quality Assurance: Adjust ink distribution, press speed, and tension to ensure perfect print-to-print and print-to-die registration.
  • Machine Operation: Closely monitor print quality throughout the run.
  • Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine cleaning, oiling, and preventative care; troubleshoot and correct mechanical or print issues to minimize material waste.

Key Requirements & Skills

  • Experience: A minimum of 2+ years of proven experience operating narrow web servo-driven flexo presses (e.g., Mark Andy 2200, P-Series, or DF3) or similar machine. Experience working at a label company preferred.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of flexographic printing, color matching systems, and die-cutting is preferred. Familiarity with tension controls on presses.
  • Physical & Mental Abilities: Strong mechanical aptitude, high attention to detail, and the ability to stand, lift 40#, and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Proficient in basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
  • Interest in possible cross-training on other packaging and cutting machinery.
