Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Machine Shop Supervisor to join our dynamic team in Minneapolis, MN. In this role, you will oversee daily operations in our machine shop, ensuring that production goals are met while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of machine shop personnel to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Monitor production schedules and adjust workloads to meet deadlines.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Conduct regular inspections of machinery and equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Provide training and mentorship to staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize processes and resolve issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of production metrics and employee performance.
  • Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new machine shop employees.
Qualifications

Minimum of (5) years Machining / machining support and supervision experience in a manufacturing environment.

•High School Diploma or equivalent required, and 2 years technical college degree preferred.

•Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing processes.

•Proficient with programming, editing, machine setup and troubleshooting of CNC mills and lathes.

•Experience with Fanuc controls.

•Must have demonstrated knowledge and experience using inspection equipment, calipers, bore gages, height gages.

•Proficiency in MS Office Suite, internat and email, and familiarity with SAP software preferred.

•Proven ability to communicate and interact effectively across all levels of the organization, and with external customers.

•Demonstrated ability to teach, coach and work with all levels of production personnel.

•Able to read text and blueprints as well as drafting symbols and geometric tolerance symbols.

•Must be able to handle, coordinate and manage multiple tasks simultaneously on a consistent basis.

•Demonstrated problem solving skills.

•Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, group participation and management skills.

•Self-starting, results-oriented, flexible, and team player.

•Ability to prioritize workload and shift work activities in order to meet business needs and business segment goals.
