Truck & Trailer Shop Technician - Level 2

Fargo, North Dakota | Full-time | Truck Shop Service

A truck or trailer sitting in the shop cannot do its job. Your work helps customers get back on the road safely and keeps their business moving. If you enjoy diagnosing mechanical problems, working with your hands, and learning new systems, O’Day gives you room to build a lasting technical career.

What you’ll do
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and install equipment on refined fuel and LP delivery trucks, trailers, and company-owned equipment.
  • Perform truck and trailer repairs efficiently and accurately according to repair orders and manufacturer standards.
  • Cut, thread, fit, and plumb pipe for refined fuel and LP systems.
  • Work with air systems, 12-volt and 24-volt electrical systems, welding, and metal fabrication.
  • Maintain company equipment, shop equipment, a clean work area, and customer vehicles.
  • Complete work orders with accurate descriptions, materials, and serial numbers.
  • Coordinate with the parts department and notify the Service Advisor when added work, delays, or changes affect the promised completion time.
  • Operate material-handling equipment and company vehicles.
  • Travel to customer sites when needed and occasionally assist field technicians, including rare overnight travel.

What you bring
  • Mechanical aptitude and hands-on repair experience.
  • Previous Class 4–8 truck and trailer chassis repair experience is a plus.
  • Experience with air equipment and an understanding of 12-volt systems.
  • Welding, metal fabrication, fleet, or shop maintenance experience.
  • Good judgment and the ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and shop machinery.
  • Clear communication, regular attendance, honesty, respect, and a willingness to help where needed.
  • High school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license.
