THE POSITION
We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven Liquor Store Assistant Manager 1 to join our Fine Wine & Good Spirits store at South Easton Road in Glenside. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the smooth operation of the store while delivering exceptional customer service. You will work closely with the General Manager to lead, motivate, and develop a team, drive sales, and maintain high standards of store presentation. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position supports store operations by guiding staff, assisting customers, and keeping the environment safe and welcoming. As an Assistant Manager 1, you will perform the following duties:
  • Store Leadership: Oversee daily operations to maintain efficient, customer-focused service
  • Team Guidance: Lead employees by assigning tasks, inspecting work, and supporting strong performance
  • Sales Support: Assist with receiving shipments, stocking products, and helping customers select items
  • Customer Service: Address questions, resolve issues, and foster a welcoming shopping environment
  • Safety and Cleanliness: Maintain a safe, organized store environment for staff and customers
  • Inventory Management: Help keep stock levels accurate and product displays well maintained

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year as a Liquor Store Clerk 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Two years as a Liquor Store Clerk 1 or an Intermittent Liquor Store Clerk (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of lead retail sales work.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation. An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB, per section 210(c) of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code. Other criminal convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
