Job description

A-Line Staffing is now hiring a Systems Administrator (Linux) in Boise, ID. The Systems Administrator (Linux) would be working for a Fortune 500 company and has strong career growth potential. This would be full time / 40+ hours per week.

Systems Administrator (Linux) Compensation

  • The pay for this position is $37–$41 per hour (based on experience)
  • Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
  • A 401(k) with a company match is available to full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates

Systems Administrator (Linux) Highlights

  • The required availability for this position is Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Onsite role in Boise, ID
  • Opportunity to work closely with engineering teams supporting critical infrastructure
  • This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs

Systems Administrator (Linux) Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and upgrade Linux-based systems supporting engineering and development teams
  • Provide day-to-day support for physical and virtual server environments
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and overall health of Linux infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, including break-fix and operational support
  • Provision and configure systems in both physical and virtual environments
  • Support and drive configuration management using tools like Puppet or Ansible
  • Write and maintain scripts (Bash, Python, etc.) to automate system tasks and processes
  • Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to ensure system reliability and performance
  • Propose and implement improvements to enhance system efficiency, scalability, and uptime
  • Support large-scale server environments and contribute to infrastructure standardization efforts

Systems Administrator (Linux) Requirements

  • 3+ years of Linux administration experience
  • Red Hat experience
  • Associate’s degree required with substantial Linux administration experience
  • Strong hands-on experience supporting and troubleshooting Linux environments
  • Experience with physical and virtual servers
  • Familiarity with data center / on-prem infrastructure environments
  • Intermediate scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar)
  • Basic experience with configuration management tools (Puppet or Ansible)
  • Exposure to virtualization technologies
  • Basic understanding of cloud concepts and provisioning
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days

Systems Administrator (Linux) Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with Puppet
  • Experience supporting large-scale server environments
  • Exposure to AWS or other cloud platforms
  • Experience with automation and system optimization initiatives
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
