Job Summary

Mirbeau massage therapists are more than service providers- they’re wellness professionals who bring presence, skill, and intention to every treatment, uphold discretion and consistency, and contribute to a guest journey rooted in wellness, and revitalization. In this role, you’ll deliver thoughtful, expert treatments with warmth, professionalism, and calm, grounded energy. A valid NYS license, excellent communication skills, and a guest-oriented personality are essential, along with a true passion for helping others feel balanced, renewed, and deeply cared for.

Full-time therapists have potential to make up to $100,000 per year. Compensation includes fixed fees per service, guest gratuities, enhancement incentives, retail commissions and other incentive opportunities.

$2,000 Sign-On Bonus paid after 90 days of employment! Additionally, we are proud to offer a Relocation Assistance Program for qualified candidates. This program provides a $5,000 relocation allowance, with half paid upon hire and the remaining half paid after 90 days of employment. To qualify, candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the job location prior to hire.

Responsibilities

  • Guest Experience & Service
    • Create a welcoming, calming atmosphere with professional, courteous, and guest-centered service
    • Provide a variety of personalized massage treatments (Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone, etc) that meet spa guidelines and licensing standards
    • Educate guests about spa services, treatment benefits, and wellness practices that support well-being
    • Use guest names when known and uphold Forbes and Mirbeau’s language standards and etiquette
    • Support a seamless guest journey by collaborating with spa attendants, front desk and fellow service providers
  • Treatment Preparation & Sanitation
    • Prepare and maintain clean, stocked and organized treatment rooms after and after each service- properly cleaning, restocking supplies and resetting equipment
    • Follow spa guidelines and industry best practices for sanitation and sterilization
    • Properly care for equipment and use products efficiently to support quality and cost control and prevent waste
    • Uphold spa policies and state licensing requirements, including adherence to all safety and ethical guidelines
    • Perform all prep and post-service tasks with precision, care, and attention to detail
  • Knowledge & Development
    • Possess full knowledge of all spa treatments, products, and guidelines
    • Stay current on new massage techniques, spa treatments, and wellness industry trends relevant to the massage therapist role
    • Willingly train in Mirbeau’s specific treatments and adapt to new services as introduced
  • Professionalism & Reliability
    • Arrive on time, in a clean uniform with name tag, and maintain a neat, well-groomed appearance
    • Be prompt with each appointment and complete services within the scheduled time frames- coordinating with the front desk and attendants
    • Contribute positively to the spa work environment with a professional, calm and composed attitude
    • Demonstrate discipline, reliability, and ability to work independently without constant supervision
  • Additional Responsibilities
    • Maintain confidentiality and discretion for all guests at all times, ensuring guest comfort and trust
    • Uphold the integrity of your license and spa policies by maintaining ethical, safe and professional practices at all times.
    • Fulfill any other responsibilities or assist with special tasks as directed by spa leadership or Spa Director

Qualifications, Skills & Educational Requirements

  • Licensing & Experience
    • Must hold and maintain a current, valid NYS License for Massage Therapy
    • Thorough knowledge of massage modalities and technique, with the ability to customize treatments for each guest; experience with wellness-based treatments preferred
    • Proficiency in a variety of massage modalities (Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone, prenatal, etc)
    • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and contraindications to ensure safe and effective treatments
    • Prior experience in a spa, wellness, or refined hospitality environment strongly preferred
    • Willingness to train in and perform spa-specific or signature treatments as required per the spa’s service offerings
