Job description

Responsibilities
Effective Date: 05/24
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assists in the planning and implementation of patient care on the inpatient and/or outpatient behavioral health units at The Queen's Medical Center - Kahi Mohala (QMC-KM).
• Performs duties in accordance with established departmental and Medical Center policies and procedures.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Essential: standing, sitting, walking, stooping/bending, kneeling, walking on uneven ground, squatting, twisting body, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking, lifting weight up to 50 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 5 pounds of force, carrying usual weight of 25 pounds up to 30 pounds, reaching above, at and below shoulder level, repetitive arm/hand motions, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods, frequent gripping of an object.
• Occasional: climbing stairs, squatting.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
• May be exposed to both inside and outside environmental conditions.
• May be exposed to communicable diseases from patients.
• Patients may be aggressive and/or paranoid.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
• Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or related field; or four (4) years progressive experience in a behavioral health setting may be substituted for the education experience.
• Must meet and maintain credentialing requirements with the State of Hawaii Child & Adolescent Mental Health Division (CAMHD).
• Valid U.S. driver's license required in accordance with Hawaii State law rules and regulations.
• Driver's abstract or evidence of good driving record required.
• Current BLS certification.
B. EXPERIENCE:
• One (1) year experience working in a behavioral health setting preferred; i.e., inpatient, outpatient, partial hospitalization or intensive outpatient programs.
