Job Description

We are looking for a Mainframe Analyst to analyze, maintain, and enhance existing mainframe applications while extracting and documenting business rules. This position will be contract and hybrid in Trenton, NJ.

What You’ll Do

  • Analyze existing COBOL/CICS/DB2/MQ programs to extract and document business logic and rules

  • Review batch processing systems, including JCLs and procedures, to document program workflows

  • Perform analysis, design, coding, and testing of application code owned by the Application Team

  • Support production systems, including maintenance, enhancements, and issue resolution

  • Develop or modify programs and DB2 stored procedures and perform unit testing

  • Collaborate with IT and business units to design and implement technical solutions for case management systems

  • Participate in system and usability testing alongside business users

  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation

  • Work under the supervision of the AOC Project Manager or designated IT representative

What You’ll Need

Required:

  • 4-year college degree or equivalent technical study

  • 8+ years of experience with:

    • COBOL/CICS/DB2 coding, testing, and debugging

    • IBM OS/JCL (MVS)

    • CICS

    • IBM DB2

    • Developing technical and supporting documentation

    • Participating in system and usability testing with users

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams

  • Experience coding complex DB2 stored procedures

  • Experience with MQ or APPC/LU 6.2 programming in COBOL-CICS

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions

Preferred:

  • Experience with IDMS/DC to CICS conversions

  • Experience with IDMS to DB2 conversions

  • Experience with database conversions

  • Prior experience supporting case management systems or judiciary-related applications

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
