Job description

Duties will include but not be limited to vertical and horizontal well planning and design, writing AFEs, analyzing drilling performance & costs, evaluating vendor performance and investigation and application of new technologies to improve drilling performance and cost efficiencies in the development and exploration drilling program. In addition, the successful candidate must be able to work closely and effectively with G&G, Reservoir, Completion, Land, Construction and Regulatory groups, provide up to date, detailed performance and cost analysis to Division Management and to provide the daily Engineering supervisory support and guidance for multiple drilling rig operations & well site supervisors.

The minimum educational requirement is a BS in Engineering with a preference for Petroleum Engineering, and a minimum of 3 years of drilling engineering experience. Significant experience in the drilling design and execution of technical horizontal well bores. The position will require excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership and supervisory skills and possess ability to work with field personnel and division staff. Strong ability to organize and supervise field personnel. Need expertise in wide range of drilling applications and ability to make sound decisions quickly on a regular basis. Must have strong computer skills.
