Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Life Science Teacher to join our science faculty. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in human biology and physiology, a heart for Christian education, and the ability to inspire high school students to excel academically and grow spiritually.

Direct Report: Secondary Principal
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Teacher will report to the Science Department Chair and to the Secondary Principal.
  • Teach Anatomy & Physiology and life science courses aligned with Christian worldview and academic standards.
  • Develop lesson plans, assignments, and assessments that integrate biblical perspectives with scientific content.
  • Foster a positive, respectful classroom environment that encourages student engagement and curiosity.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the science curriculum and support interdisciplinary learning.
  • Provide academic support and mentorship to students as needed.
  • Participate in school events, chapel services, and professional development activities.
  • Uphold and model the school's Christian values and mission.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Ideally (but not required) Master's Degree in Science, Health, or Education field preferred. Bachelor's degree in Biology, Anatomy, Physiology, or related field may apply.
  • Teaching certification preferred but not required.
  • Experience teaching Anatomy & Physiology or related science course at the high school level.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage and motivate students with diverse learning styles.
  • Be born again, consecrated Christian dedicated to the purpose and goals Maranatha Christian Academy.
  • Have a genuine desire to bring leadership to the academic subject for which they are leading.
  • Set a positive example of leadership with students, parents, and other staff.
  • Experience using technology and multimedia to enhance instruction.
  • Ability to participate in extracurricular activities, such as science clubs or health related programs.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to run, climb stairs, and respond swiftly during emergencies.
  • Move quickly in various situations .
  • Agility and flexibility for navigating school premises
  • Ability to stand, stoop, crawl, bend, or kneel
  • Visual and auditory acuity to support classroom management
