Job description

Infection Control Nurse at Cape Heritage Rehab in Sandwich

Can be an LPN or RN. $40 to $50 an hour, depending on experience and license. Cape Heritage is a 123-bed skilled nursing facility.

As an Infection Control Nurse, you will play a vital role in planning, organizing, developing, coordinating, directing, and evaluating our Infection Control Program to ensure an effective Infection Prevention & Control Program is maintained.

Job Responsibilities:

Plan, organize, develop, coordinate, direct, and evaluate our Infection Control Program and its components to ensure an effective Infection Prevention & Control Program is maintained.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation related to the Infection Control & Prevention Program.
Conduct monthly surveillance rounds to evaluate the status of Infection-related practices in the facility.
Assist the Staff Development Director in educating employees on Infection Control Practices, Policies, and Procedures.
Participate in the Employee Health and Safety Committees and maintain Employee Health Records.
Review monthly laboratory reports and assure up-to-date laboratory policy/procedure manuals are available.

Requirements:

Must possess a Nursing Degree from an accredited school of nursing, college or university.
Must possess an active and unencumbered LPN or RN license in Massachusetts. CPR required.
Must possess training or current experience in wound care.
Certification in infection control and/or wound care preferred, but not necessary.
Two years of Infection Control experience preferred.
Must have at least two (2) years of clinical experience in a long-term care facility.
Must have training in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.
Must possess a working knowledge of epidemiology, microbiology, infectious diseases, and aseptic techniques to include Standard Precautions.
