Job description

We are seeking a Software Developer to design, develop, test, and maintain technology solutions that support business-critical systems. The final level/grade for this position will be determined based on your experience and qualifications. In this role, you will build reliable applications, databases, interfaces, reports, and technical documentation driven by business requirements.

Location: Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid: 4 days remote / 1 day on-site)

Employment Type: Temp-to-Perm | Full-Time

Work Authorization: US Citizens or Green Card Holders only (No sponsorship provided)

Residency: Candidates must currently reside in Arizona

What You Will Do

  • Design, code, test, implement, and maintain clean, reliable software applications and system interfaces.
  • Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Develop databases, process flows, application logic, and ad-hoc reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Create technical documentation and write/execute unit test plans.
  • Troubleshoot, track, and resolve system and processing issues promptly.
  • Follow established source-control, versioning, data mapping, and deployment procedures while participating in peer code reviews.
  • Estimate project timelines, manage schedules, and present system modification plans.
  • Support Scrum responsibilities when assigned (sprint planning, retrospectives, demos, backlog management, and cross-team coordination).
  • Provide technical guidance to junior engineers on complex assignments as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Core Experience:
    • 3-5 years of overall experience in IT/Computer Science.
    • 1-3 years of hands-on experience in software development, programming, query design, and database development.
  • Skills: Solid understanding of object-oriented analysis, structured programming, data mapping, query design tools, and version control systems.
  • Seniority Note: Up to 1 year of project management or technical leadership experience is required for candidates aligning at the Software Engineer III level.
