Tech, Nuclear Medicine Main Hospital Full Time

Responsible for assisting with decision making, program planning, and implementation of clinical care delivery systems which promote safety and well-being of patients. Facilitates departmental organization and management to achieve optimal and appropriate resource utilization. Builds and maintains high performing clinical care delivery teams. Assist with building customer loyalty among physicians, employees, and community. Possesses requisite level of technical and professional knowledge in clinical area of expertise including exceptional leadership skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs procedure as ordered and obtain images according to written protocols. Ensure patient procedure and supply charges are correct.
  • Assists patient on/off exam table and from wheelchair or stretcher if needed. Obtain and record accurate patient history.
  • Cleans and monitors equipment and report equipment problem/failure to Bio-Med or Manager.
  • Performs and documents quality control on equipment according to manufacture guidelines or department protocols; recognizes and take appropriate action for abnormal results (daily, weekly, or monthly). Performs daily crash cart quality analysis.
  • Maintains yearly competency, mandatory education, professional certification, state licensure, and education requirements.
  • Ensures a safe and clean environment with all the necessary supplies needed to perform studies and procedures in exam room.
  • Receives, handle, store, prepare and administers radio pharmaceuticals to patients according to prescribe dose or protocol and in compliance with QMP.
  • Applies knowledge of department QMP, NRC and State rules, and radiation safety principles to ensure patient and staff safety for radiation protection to achieve radiation exposure ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable), for patients, self and others.

Requirements

  • Certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and state certification, as applicable
  • Must be a graduate of an approved nuclear medicine program
  • Three or more years of related experience
  • Current BLS
  • RSO experience preferred
