Headerman Machine OperatorAddison, IL

We are seeking a Headerman Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate machinery within a production cell to manufacture new, special, regular, and experimental parts while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate various machines within the assigned production cell.
  • Make minor machine adjustments and communicate larger adjustments to the Lead or Setup person.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, including machine lubrication as needed.
  • Make minor repairs and notify Maintenance when additional support is required.
  • Inspect work in progress using the appropriate measuring equipment and quality/work instructions.
  • Use measuring instruments to maintain close tolerances.
  • Perform tasks including counting, cleaning, returning gauges and fixtures, and transferring parts.
  • Ensure machine safety guards are properly installed and in good condition.
  • Assist other operators and participate in cross-training.
  • Follow production schedules, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Operate a forklift/powered industrial truck as required.
  • Take responsibility for the quality of your own work.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Experience:
  • Education: HSD, required; technical training or certification in machining or related field, preferred
  • Experience: 1-3 years of operating header machine equipment or similar manufacturing machinery, required
  • Knowledge: capable of using measuring equipment and hand tools, required
  • AbilityRead, write, & perform basic arithmetic and follow verbal and written instructions, required
