Job description

We have an outstanding career opportunity for a Health Informatics Manager to join a leading Company located in the Wichita, KS surrounding area.

Responsibilities
  • Provide training and support to all departments of the MPA: Internal Medicine, Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, School-Based Healthcare, and affiliates.
  • Responsible for the strategic direction of the HIM department in alignment with the MPA's mission and vision.
  • Stay aware of national trends and software capabilities.  
  • May require attendance at annual conferences or conventions. 
  • Helping to establish expectations, monitoring milestones, and completing training.
  • Provide input and oversight for electronic archiving, storage, and retrieval, including patient account information and patient medical records storage and retrieval systems.
  • Continual communication with supervisor and end users.
  • Maintain and foster open lines of communication among all internal and external customers.
  • Utilize multiple training and delivery skills in the training process, with an understanding of the various learning styles.
  • Assist end users with login issues.
  • Log system issues and follow up until they are resolved.
  • Customize the system based on clinic needs.
  • Responsibilities include determining workflow where applicable and professionally addressing complaints and resolving issues.  
  • Run eCW pre-built reports.  
  • Collaborate with the HIM team regarding any decision to purchase a custom report. 
  • Supervise all HIM positions.
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned.
  • Reliable Attendance and Punctuality.

Basic Hiring Criteria:
  • Bachelor's Degree with a major concentration in Information Systems, Business, or a technical field. 
  • Minimum two to four years of related experience required.
  • Minimum 3 years of progressively responsible experience in systems design.
  • Must have a background in working directly with physicians, mid-levels, and clinic support staff.
  • Must have Electronic Medical Records specific knowledge.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, outgoing personality with a strong customer service attitude.
  • Background in medical terminology and workflow.
  • EMR implementation, customization, and maintenance knowledge.
  • Must have HL7 interface experience.
  • High interpersonal skills, including demonstrated ability to relate well with others in the execution of duties.  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of security processes.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Master's degree preferred. 
  • Certifications:  Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and related products. 
  • Ability to learn customizable practice management software and electronic medical records. 
  • Proven knowledge required in operating systems, databases, spreadsheets, and word processing.  
  • Proven ability to train users in software applications.  
  • Familiarity with medical practice management software and electronic medical records.
