About the Role
As an Assistant Designer, you will support Design Leaders in the development of handbag collections across four Kohl's proprietary brands: LC Lauren Conrad, Simply Vera Vera Wang, Sonoma and FLX. This role supports the team through the full product creation process, from trend research and concept development through sample execution, which aligns with brand positioning and target customers.
What You'll Do
Build, create and maintain tech packs to scale, trim sheets and design packages
Ensure accurate data entry into Product Lifecycle Management
Assist in meeting preparation and breakdown, including room setup, samples, reports and creating boards and line sheets
Gather and analyze market and trend research
Ensure understanding of the supported brand, foster innovation and remain updated on the competition
Complete pre-packages as a part of the research and development process
Additional tasks may be assigned
What Skills You Have
Required
Familiarity and moderate proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Ned Graphics, Kaledo or related program
Understanding of handbag construction, materials, trims, and hardware
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design, Accessories Design or related field
Previous professional full-time experience in handbag design within the competitive landscape (minimally one year or more)
Domestic travel may be required
This role is based at our New York Design Office. You'll work onsite from Monday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Fridays.
