Job description

Tri-Mountain Golf Course, located in Ridgefield, WA, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a full-time Greenskeeper! We are seeking a motivated individual who is interested in contributing to a positive experience for our members and guests while continuing to grow their knowledge of golf club operations. As an associate of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.
Pay:
$19.00 - $20.00 per hour
Summary:
As a Greenskeeper, you will be responsible for the landscaping and maintenance of the golf course. Ideal candidates have a passion for landscaping and nurturing our grounds. Knowledge of grounds maintenance is preferred.
Schedule:
Flexible schedule required, with availability to work extended hours during the golf and holiday season, as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintains clean and organized work areas on the golf course and maintenance facility.
  • Performs course setup, including moving and setting tee balls, picking up garbage, and changing pins.
  • Mows greens, approaches, fairways, rough, tees, and other areas.
  • Waters tees, greens, and fairways; operates irrigation heads in dry areas needing additional water.
  • Repairs the irrigation system, pipes, and irrigation heads as necessary.
  • Grades and prepares soil base, lays sod, and seeds greens, tees, and fairways.
  • Trims and prunes hedges and shrubbery; cleans flower beds.
  • Applies pesticides and fertilizer to the golf course.
  • Operates small equipment, such as weed trimmers, blowers, edgers, and push mowers.
  • Aerifies greens, verticuts, and mows tees and greens.
  • Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must have a willingness to learn.
  • Must be driven and possess a strong work ethic.
  • Must be dependable.
  • Possesses leadership qualities.

Knowledge/Skill:
  • Ability to operate trucks and light motorized equipment.
  • Working knowledge of basic electricity and hydraulics related to an irrigation system, including automatic valves and controllers, and various types of pumps and pumping systems.
  • Knowledge of agronomy, turf grass science, and the rules of golf.
  • Ability to work carefully and ensure co-workers are working safely.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral instructions.

Certificates/Licenses:
  • Valid driver's license required.

Physical Requirements:
  • Frequently required to use hands.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
  • Frequently lifts, moves, and carries up to 50 lbs.; may push or pull up to 100 lbs.

Environment/Noise:
  • Regularly exposed to hot and humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, moving mechanical parts, compact spaces, hot attic temperatures, and outside weather conditions.
  • Noise level is moderate.
