Job description

CloudOps Engineer
Department: SaaS
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: Atlanta
Description
Infor is looking for a Senior CloudOps Engineer with deep expertise in cloud networking, AWS cloud infrastructure, and VPN technologies. This role sits at the intersection of networking and cloud engineering, with a primary focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, high-performance network architectures across hybrid and cloud-native environments. Success in this role requires strong ownership, problem-solving ability, and a commitment to automation, reliability, and security best practices.
You will work heavily with the network layer of enterprise customer environments - from VPN tunnels and transit gateways to DNS, firewall policies, and traffic routing - while applying DevOps principles of automation, observability, and infrastructure as code throughout.
A Typical Day in the Life Includes:
  • Support customers across the U.S. by maintaining reliable network environments and participating in an on-call rotation to ensure rapid response and system uptime
  • Partner directly with customers and their network teams to troubleshoot issues, resolve escalations, and optimize performance
  • Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise network architectures across AWS and hybrid environments, including routing, firewalls, VPNs, and segmentation
  • Monitor network performance (latency, throughput, packet loss), lead incident response, and perform root cause analysis to prevent future issues
  • Architect and manage AWS networking services (VPC, Transit Gateway, load balancers, DNS), ensuring security, scalability, and compliance
  • Drive automation and efficiency through infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, and scripting, while contributing to observability and monitoring improvements

Basic Qualifications:
  • Experience in network engineering, cloud infrastructure, or DevOps roles within enterprise environments
  • Experience engaging directly with customers to gather requirements, lead technical discussions, and design network solutions, including whiteboarding and collaborating on architecture decisions
  • Hands-on expertise with AWS networking, including VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPC Endpoints, and hybrid architectures
  • Experience with advanced networking protocols and concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, BGP, IPsec, TLS, routing, segmentation, and firewall design
  • Experience designing and managing VPN solutions at scale (site-to-site and client VPN), including troubleshooting complex connectivity issues
  • Proficiency with infrastructure as code and automation, using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and CI/CD platforms (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins)
  • Experience across Linux and Windows networking environments, using tools such as tcpdump, traceroute, mtr, and Wireshark, along with exposure to enterprise network hardware (Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, etc.)
  • Must be willing to work 3 days per week in the office
  • Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:
  • AWS Networking and/or Solutions Architect certification
  • Familiarity with zero-trust network architectures and SASE frameworks
  • Experience with multi-region or global network architectures
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI-DSS) as they relate to network controls
