JOB SUMMARY
Please note that this is not a wrangler or horse trainer position.
The Horseback Trail Guide provides exceptional guest service and frontline support for customers visiting Kualoa Ranch. This role involves safely conducting informative and engaging tours of the ranch property on horseback, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all guests by using necessary safety equipment and instruction. As an ambassador of Hawai'i and Kualoa, you will embody and promote the company's values and brand image to enhance the guest experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Guide guests on horseback tours across Kualoa Ranch's scenic trails, sharing insights about the ranch's history, landscape, and Hawaiian culture.
  • Be comfortable riding and guiding for up to 6 hours each shift.
  • Ensure the safety of all guests by following established safety protocols and providing proper instructions before and during the tour.
  • Engage with guests to create memorable and educational experiences while fostering a fun and welcoming environment.
  • Assist with the preparation of horses and equipment for tours, ensuring all gear is in proper working condition.
  • Provide frontline support for guest inquiries and concerns, resolving issues promptly with a focus on service excellence.
  • Represent Kualoa Ranch as a knowledgeable and enthusiastic ambassador of Hawaiian culture, history, and environment.
  • Uphold the company's values and mission, promoting a positive image of Kualoa Ranch.
  • Lead up to three 2-hour tours each day.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Intermediate to advanced horse knowledge and recent riding experience is required.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical labor.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to mount, dismount, and ride horses for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform tasks that require bending, kneeling, and standing for long durations.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in hot, humid, rainy, or dusty conditions.
