Job description

Job Overview:

SAPA Transmission is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our quality control team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing thorough inspections to ensure that our products meet engineering specifications and industry standards by bench inspecting using Micro-Hite, hand gages, profilometer and other manual methods. Your expertise in measuring tools and quality control processes will be essential in maintaining high product quality and collaborating effectively with both production and engineering teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct visual inspections and use various measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gage, thread gages, etc.) to verify product quality.
  • Perform first article inspections (FAI) and in-process inspections according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Record inspection results accurately and maintain inspection records.
  • Work closely with the quality control team to identify and report non-conformances and deviations.
  • Collaborate with engineers and production personnel to resolve quality-related issues.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of quality control processes and procedures.
  • Ensure that the measuring equipment is calibrated and maintained according to the manufacturer's guidelines.
  • Keep a well-organized and clean workspace, maintaining tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding inspection results and any quality issues.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training is a plus.
  • Proven experience in Blueprint reading.
  • Familiarity with engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and quality control standards.
  • Proficiency in manual inspection techniques and the use of various measuring instruments.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurement and reporting.
  • Knowledge of metrology, statistical process control, and quality control methodologies.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving technologies and quality standards.
