Waste Connectionsis searching for our next All-StarHeavy Equipment Operatorto join us atWest Van Materials Recovery Center(6601 NW Old Lower River Rd, Vancouver, WA 98660).

Starting rate of pay is$29.00/HR

Schedule is:

  • Tuesday - Friday10:00 AM - 6:30 PM (or until close)
  • Saturday7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (or until close)

Safety Sensitive:Yes

Qualified candidates must haveFront End Loader,Excavator,Yard TruckandTrailerexperience.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • REQUIRESability to efficiently & safely operateFront End Loader,Excavator,Yard TruckandTrailer.Compactorexperiencepreferred.
  • Performs routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking oil, water, and tires.
  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
  • Promotescontinuous improvementof workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

  • Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work;heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
  • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment is required.
  • Knowledge ofbasic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of light andheavy equipment operationand maintenance.
  • Knowledge of basicvehicle inspectionand maintenance including tire pressure, checking oil and water levels.
  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.


MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1-YR of work experience directly related to the duties/requirements for this position.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 500-hoursofHeavy Equipment Operatingexperience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Heavy Equipment Operating certificationfrom an accredited trade schoolpreferred.
  • Basic knowledge of computer skills.
  • Pre-employment requirements for this safety sensitive position includedrug panel screening, motor vehicle report, &criminal background check.
