The Department of Pediatrics in the Heersink School of Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a qualified candidate for an open-rank, twelve-month faculty position within the Division of Pediatric Neurology.
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient pediatric neurology care and will participate in the academic missions of the Division, including teaching and scholarly activity. Clinical responsibilities will support the clinical programs and patient care needs of the Division, including pediatric epilepsy care.
Faculty are encouraged to pursue scholarly initiatives consistent with their clinical and academic
interests. Opportunities for collaboration, mentorship, and intramural research support are available to promote professional development and advancement along the faculty track.
The Division of Pediatric Neurology is based at Children's of Alabama, the state's only freestanding children's hospital and a major regional referral center. Faculty supervise fellows, residents, and medical students in a collaborative academic environment with strong opportunities for clinical innovation and professional growth.
Applicants must hold an MD, DO, or equivalent degree and be board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Neurology. Physicians and clinical faculty candidates employed by the University of Alabama Health Services Foundation (UAHSF) or other UAB Medicine entities must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
The position offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. Rank and compensation will be commensurate with experience and include a guaranteed salary with productivity-based incentive opportunities.
