As a part of this, Ayrton is looking to hire a dynamic Mechatronics Engineer to help develop our technology into a commercial product.

  • Collaborate with Mechanical, Manufacturing, and Tech Dev teams to rapidly develop and improve products
  • Generate design documentation including controls narratives, cause-and-effect matrices and schematics to enable successful design review and manufacture
  • Lead root-cause investigations and implement control system improvements that increase reliability and performance
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and safety requirements
  • Support hazard reviews, risk assessments, and safe operating procedures

What Success Looks Like After 12 Months:

  • You have developed robust, well-integrated controls for our next-generation test equipment and system designs
  • You are a trusted technical resource for instrumentation, controls, and automation challenges
  • You have improved system reliability, safety, and maintainability through thoughtful design and troubleshooting
  • You have become a core contributor to Ayrton's engineering culture and product development process

Your Qualifications:

  • Strong hands-on experience with controls development and integration with mechanical design
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and solve instrumentation and controls-related issues in laboratory or industrial environments
  • Experience working with Solidworks CAD software to produce design and manufacturing drawings including use of GD&T
  • Track record of translating prototype designs into commercially viable products
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Eligible for Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) designation in Alberta
